Why We're Here - as told by Kaye Sanders

I work at the Dyersburg Thrift Store. I've been on staff since 1986 and have worked at a variety of jobs.

I remember one day when I was working in the family help section. There was a man that came for help. He and his family had lost all their belongings in a house fire. He was depressed and crying that he had never had to ask for help from anyone. He had always worked and provided for his family.

I gathered items such as pots and pans, silverware, dishes and bedding. I also shared with him that he and others like him were the reason the Mission was here.

There are times in our lives when we all need help from others. Because of caring people in our community that share continuously we are able to help with all sorts of needs and all sorts of different people.

I feel very blessed to be a small part of such a wonderful ministry.
