Glimpses of Truth
His Word Is For You . . .
Is it His or is it ours? I mean, just who is responsible for it?
There are many today who would say that the Bible contains some truth, but those of us who by faith in God believe it believe it as total truth. If only parts are true, then who in their great and glorious wisdom will be qualified to tell us?
Man continues to search out ways to credit himself, to excuse himself for a lifestyle which he desires. We must be assured, however, that the truths of God do not change with the passing of years. It is still the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. Okay, it’s Divine, not manmade. And we must still believe it today, in spite of the tendencies of contemporary theologians, even some who classify themselves as evangelicals, and certainly all those off-the-wall cults.
The Bible speaks authoritatively to the needs of man because it is a trustworthy Word—a Word without error. Remember, it’s Divine. The Bible was given to man by God Himself. The Apostle Paul wrote, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” II Timothy 3:16. That about covers it all.
The authors of Scripture were superintended in their writing by the Holy Spirit. He kept them from error as they penned the books that comprise the Canon of Scripture. The 66 books from Genesis through Revelation are God’s Book written for man. Remember, it’s Divine.
Every time man has accepted the Book as God’s, has taken it as truth, something has happened. The WORD has made a tremendous impact on individuals, families, cities, even the world. When received as light, it has always dispelled darkness. Slavery, inhuman treatment, and all forms of oppression have melted away before its impact. After all, it’s Divine.
Prostitutes, murderers, college professors, scientists, princes, kings, all who accept its message have had their lives marvelously changed. Sin is replaced by holiness, lies by truth, hatred with love, on and on and on, because the grace of God always wins out over everything else when accepted.
Dear friend, the Bible is God’s inspired, errorless word to you. Won’t you see it as God’s holy and authoritative Word? Won’t you believe its message and be born again?
Believe in the One Whom it proclaims, for it says that He Died For You. Receive Him Today is the message for this world. It’s a heavenly, holy, right, trustworthy, correct, factual, just, dependable, safe Word. Remember, it’s ___________.
